Mark Lizotte, better known by his stage name Diesel or Johnny Diesel, is a musician born on May 31, 1966, in Fall River, Massachusetts. Lizotte and his family moved to Australia when he was a child, and the country became the place he called home. He played guitar in several bands before forming Johnny Diesel & the Injectors, which marked the beginning of Lizotte’s stage name, Johnny Diesel. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1989. In 1992, Lizotte embarked on a solo career, billed only as Diesel, with the release of the album, Hepfidelity. The album reached number one ins Australia and led to Lizotte winning Best Album and Best Male Artist at the ARIA Awards. Lizotte would go on to win several more ARIA Awards. Lizotte has collaborated with artists like Tim Chaisson, Lila Gold, Jimmy Barnes, and Dweezil Zappa.
