Diogo Jota is a professional soccer player who currently plays for Premier League team Liverpool and the Portuguese national team as a striker. Jota was born on 4th December 1996 in Porto, Portugal. He is a versatile player known for speed and exceptional finishing. He was previously at Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he played 131 games in three seasons, before signing with Liverpool. He had been on loan at Wolves from Athletico Madrid and was signed on a permanent basis after helping Wolves get a promotion to the English Premier League for the first time in six years.
His professional debut came in 2014 with F.C. Paços de Ferreira, and he was at the club for two seasons before joining Atletico Madrid. Jota was called up to the national team in 2019. He scored his first goal for the senior team against Croatia at the 2021 National League. He has also played for Portugal under-19, under-21, and under-23 teams.
