Diogo Morgado is an actor born on January 17, 1981, in Lisbon, Portugal. Morgado began his career as a model before having his acting debut at 15 years old when he joined the cast of Terra Mãe. This would start the beginning of his journey to becoming a household name in Portugal. He has appeared in multiple popular television series like Amo-Te, Teresa, Vingança, and A Espia. For his film credits, Morgado has starred in A Vida Privada De Salazar and Virados do Avesso. Morgado became known in the United States for his portrayal of Jesus in the History Channel’s miniseries, The Bible, and in its follow-up film, Son of God. The role earned him nominations at the 2014 and 2015 Imagen Foundation Awards. Stateside, he also has a recurring role in CSI: Cyber acting opposite Patricia Arquette. In 2016, Morgado wrote and directed the short film, Signal, which won several awards at festivals like Chhatrapati Shivaji International Film Festival, Independent Shorts Awards, and the Southern States Indie Film Fest.
