Dionne Warwick is an American singer, actress, and television show host born in Orange, New Jersey on December 12, 1940. She started her singing career singing backing vocals for recording sessions in New York City. In 1962 she signed with Scepter Record and she released her debut studio album in 1963 titled Presenting Dionne Warwick. She has since released the albums Here I Am, On Stage and in the Movies, The Windows of the World, Soulful, Very Dionne, Just Being Myself, Then Came You, No Night So Long, Friends in Love, Heartbreaker, and many more. In total Dionne released 38 studio albums, 5 live albums, and 22 compilation albums. Warwick was one of the biggest hit makers in the rock era and had 56 singles chart on the Billboard Hot 100 and 80 singles on all the Billboard charts combined. She is the second most-charted female vocalist behind Aretha Franklin. She sold over 75 million singles and 25 million albums worldwide. Dione has also had acting roles in a number of films and television shows, including Switch, The Wayans Bros., Slaves, Rockford Files, So Weird and others. She has won 5 Grammy Awards with three of her songs being inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and a number of other awards.
