DJ Koze Bio
Stefan Kozalla (who is popularly known as DJ Koze or Monaco Schranze) is a German DJ, musician and remixer who was born in 1972 in Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Stefan finished second in a Disco Mix Club contest when he was sixteen.
Koze had his first taste of success with his band Fischmob, although he later properly debuted in the decade as with Adolf Noise. Music Is Okay landed in 2000 under the Yo Mama label and it was his first mix album. He later dropped All People Is My Friends, releasing the track under Kompakt in January the next year. Some of his most popular albums include Wo Die Rammelwolle Fliegt (Buback, 2005); Kosi Comes Around (Kompakt, 2005); and Amygdala (2013, released on his own under the Pampa label). Reincarnations: The Remix Chapter 2001-2009 (Get Physical) and Reincarnations: The Remix Chapter 2009-2014 (Pampa) are considered his most spellbinding, remix work.
Koze’s 2018 release Knock Knock featured guest appearances from Róisín Murphy, Sophia Kennedy, Eddie Fummler, Speech, Mano le Tough, Kurt Wagner, José Gonzalez, and Bon Iver.
