Born Lawrence Muggerud on January 28, 1968, the DJ and producer is better known to perform under his stage name of DJ Muggs. After moving to Los Angeles when he was a young teenager, he teamed up with rappers B-Real and Sen Dog to create Cypress Hill. Cypress Hill enjoyed a career that spanned just over one decade, releasing seven albums between 1991 and 2004. While still with them in the late 1990s, however, DJ Muggs released an album entitled Soul Assassins I, which he put out under the name Soul Assassins. During production, he was able to collaborate with artist such as Dr. Dre, GZA, Goodie Mob, and Wyclef Jean, to name a few. He followed this acclaimed album with Soul Assassins II in 2000, followed by Dust in 2003. After signing a contract with Angeles Records, he released the album Grandmasters with GZA from Wu-Tang Clan. He would later release the album Bass For Your Face in 2012.
