Dominic Purcell was born on Wallasey, the United Kingdom on February 17, 1970. His first appearance was in the Australian TV series Raw FM in 1997. He also appeared on the 2000 film Mission: Impossible II. He landed a role in the Fox drama John Doe and a role on the prime-time soap North Shore.
In 2005, he starred in the TV series Prison Break where he portrayed Lincoln Burrows. In 2007, he won the International Award for Best Actor from the Australian Film Institute for his role in Prison Break.
He appeared on the films In the Name of the King 3: The Last Mission (2014), A Fighting Man (2014), and Gridlocked (2015).
He also appeared on The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow as Mick Rory/Heatwave. He has also appeared on other superhero shows in the network including The Flash, Supergirl, and Arrow.
