Dorothee Pesch, popularly known as Doro Pesch or just DORO, is a German musician, singer, and songwriter who was born on June 3, 1964, in Düsseldorf, West Germany. She began her musical career in 1983 as the lead singer of the popular Heavy Metal band called Warlock with whom she released 4 albums before the band was dismissed in 1988.
After that, she decided to pursue a solo career, which began in 1989 with the release of the album Force Majeure. As time went by, she started to change her gothic metal style into a more pop-metal and hard rock sound. During her solo career, she has released over 25 albums and has collaborated with several artists among which stand out Helge Schneider, Dough Aldrich, and Regina Halmich. Her prolific and long-lasting career has earned her the title of “Metal Queen”.
