Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein Bio

Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein is an American guitarist born in Lodi, New Jersey on September 15, 1964. He is best known for his work with the horror punk band The Misfits. He was originally a roadie for The Misfits until his brother Jerry Only and the lead vocalist of the band Glenn Danzig taught him how to play guitar. At 16 years old he joined the band in 1980 and replaced the bands current guitarist Bobby Steele. In 1983 the group disbanded and four years later he helped form the band Kryst the Conqueror with his brother in 1987. The band was together until The Misfits reformed in 1995. Together The Misfits have released the albums Walk Among Us, Earth A.d./Wolf’s Blood, Static Age, American Psycho, Famous Monsters, Project 1950, and The Devil’s Rain. In 2005 Doyle started his band named Gorgeous Frankenstein and in 2007 they opened for Danzig on their first tour and released their debut album self-titled Gorgeous Frankenstein. The band was together until 2012 and in 2013 Doyle set off to work on his solo career. He released his debut studio album in 2013 titled Abominator and released his second studio album in 2017 titled Doyle II: As We Die.
