Dustin Hoffman is an American actor and filmmaker. He was born Dustin Lee Hoffman on the 8th of August, 1937, in Los Angeles, California. Hoffman’s first acting role was at the Pasadena Playhouse, alongside Gene Hackman. He studied at the Actor Studio and became a method actor. In 1968, he was casted in “Madigan Millions”. Through the 1960s, he appeared in several television shows and movies such as “Naked City”, “Hallmark Hall of Fame”, among many others. First Hoffman received critical acclaim for his acting in the play “Eh?”, for which he won a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk Award. His breakthrough film role was as Benjamin Braddock in critically acclaimed and iconic The Graduate (1967). He starred on the movies “Midnight Cowboy”, “Lenny”, “Marathon Man”, “Tootsie”, among more than a dozen other movies He made his directorial debut with “Quartet” in 2012, and he has also done voice work for the film series “Kung Fu Panda” and “The Story of Despereaux”.
