Dwight Freeney was born in Hartford, Connecticut on February 19, 1980. He was the first round, the 11th overall pick of the Indianapolis Colts in the 2002 NFL Draft. He was part of the 2002 NFL All-Rookie Team.
In 2013, the Los Angeles Chargers signed him to a two-year contract. He signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals in 2015 and another one-year contract this time with the Atlanta Falcons in 2016. The Seattle Seahawks also signed him but waived him after a month, and the Detroit Lions snatched him. He signed a one-day contract with the Indianapolis Colts in April 2018, and he announced his retirement on the next day.
Freeney is a seven-time Pro Bowl selectee. He has also been part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame 1st team All-2000s team. From 2011 to 2013, he was part of the NFL Top 100.
