Mark Anthony McDermott, better known as Dylan McDermott, is an American actor, writer, and director. He was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, United States, on October 26, 1961. Dylan began his acting career in 1987 when he appeared in the film Hamburger Hill, but he became a household name in 1997 when he was cast as the protagonist in the crime series The Practice. He has since been a regular on the TV series FBI: Most Wanted, Law & Order: Organized Crime, Hollywood, American Horror Story, LA to Vegas, Stalker, Hostages, Dark Blue, and Big Shots. His filmography includes In the Line of Fire, The Campaign, Steel Magnolias, The Messengers, The Cowboy Way, and The Perks of Being a Wallflower, but he is best known for starring in the action-thriller Olympus Has Fallen alongside Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, Angela Bassett, Morgan Freeman, and Melissa Leo. Dylan won a Golden Globes Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama.
