Edward Cathal Byrne was born on April 16, 1972 in Dublin, Ireland. Byrne went to Strathclyde University to study horticulture. During his college years, he perfected his stand-up act as a comedian in in comedy clubs and bars including the 13th Note Pub, which is nicknamed the Comedy Cellar. He eventually decided to drop out of college and move to London and in 1998 he won the Perrier Comedy Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. As for television, he has presented Uncut! Best Unseen Ads and Just for Laughs. Byrne has also been a recurring guest on multiple shows through the years including being a guest on the Graham Norton Show six times.
