Ed Helms is an American actor, comedian, and singer born in Atlanta, Georgia on January 24, 1974. He is best known for being a correspondent on The Daily Show and for his roles in the television series The Office and the Hangover trilogy films. He started his career writing and performing with sketch comedy bands in New York City. In 2005 he went to an open audition for The Daily Show and got the part, making his debut on television. He has also had roles on the shows Cheap Seats, Arrested Development, The Office, Wainy Days, Children’s Hospital, Wilfred, Ugly Americans, Jake and Amir, Drunk History, Brooklyn Nine Nine and more. In 2004 he made his debut in film in the movie Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story and has since had roles in the films Evan Almighty, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, Semi-Pro, Lower Learning, Meet Dave, The Hangover, Cedar Rapids, Someone Marry Barry, They Came Together, Vacation, Love the Coopers, Father Figures, Tag, and others. Throughout his career he has been nominated for several awards and in 2011 won a Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie: Hissy Fit for his role in the film The Hangover Part II.
