Edward Nathan George Jr., known as Eddie George, is an American retired professional football player and football coach best known for his time in the NFL. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, on September 24, 1973.
Eddie spent his formative years playing for Fork Union Military Academy and Ohio State University, and he turned professional in 1996 when he was selected by the Tennessee Titans (Houston Oilers) in the first round of the NFL Draft. Throughout his time with the Titans, Eddie played alongside Steve McNair, Derrick Mason, Brad Hopkins, and Keith Bulluck. After one season with the Dallas Cowboys, Eddie retired in 2006, and he has since worked as the head coach of Tennessee State University.
His career highlights include NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, four Pro Bowls, a Heisman Trophy, and the Ohio State Buckeyes retiring the No. 27 jersey.
