Hailing from Kentucky, Eddie Montgomery was born on 30 September 1963 and is most famously known for being the founding member of “Montgomery Gentry” along with Troy Gentry, the popular country music duo phenomenon that swept the country music world in their favor. The platinum-selling debut album “Tattoos & Scars” released in 1999 peaked at Billboard’s Top 10 Country Albums chart. It was a precursor to their future success and got them off to a running start. The duo dominated the charts with 10 of their albums breaching Billboard’s Top 10 Country Album charts, with three of them certified platinum by the RIAA, and earned themselves a Grammy nomination for Best Country Performance.
