Edward Regan Murphy began doing stand-up comedy as a teenager and joined the cast of Saturday Night Live (1980-1984) at the age of twenty-one.  The comedian, actor, writer, and producer has earned the distinction of fifth highest grossing actor in the United States, and ranked at No. 10 in Comedy Central’s list of the 100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time.  He is the winner of a Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in 2007’s Dreamgirls.  Other notable works include Trading Places (1983), the Beverly Hills Cop series (1984-1994), The Nutty Professor (1996), Norbit (2007), and Meet Dave (2008).  Upcoming projects include Richard Pryor:  Is It Something I Said?, Beverly Hills Cop 4, and Mr. Church.
