Edie Brickell was born Edie Arlisa Brickell in Dallas, Texas. She made her start in music in 1985 by getting up on stage with a local band called The New Bohemians. She ended up joining the band and began writing songs. The band recorded their debut album Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars on Geffen Records. The album was a huge hit and sold over a million copies. The follow-up album Ghost of a Dog was not a huge success and the band disbanded after that. Her first solo album was released in 1994 and was titled Picture Perfect morning. In 2003 she released Volcano which was released by Universal records and produced by Charlie sexton. In 2006 she reunited with members of The New Bohemians for the album Stranger Things which was the first album from the group in 16 years.
