Eduardo Escobar Bio

Eduardo José Escobar is a professional MLB player born on January 5, 1989, in Villa de Cura, Venezuela. He has a batting average of .253, 1,086 hits, 151 home runs, and 583 runs batted in. The utility infielder is best known for his time with the Minnesota Twins.

White Sox manager Ozzie Guillén discovered Eduardo at age 19. Eduardo debuted in the MLB in September 2011 with the White Sox, appearing in nine games. In 2014, he received the Charles O. Johnson Award for Twins Most Improved Player. He won Minnesota's 2016 Carl R. Pohlad Award for Outstanding Community Service.

Eduardo was one of six finalists for MLB's 2017 Marvin Miller Man of the Year. The Minnesota Twins traded him in 2018 with the Arizona Diamondbacks for Jhoan Durán, Ernie De La Trinidad, and Gabriel Maciel.
