Jaime Meline, better known by his stage name El-P, is an American rapper, songwriter, and music producer who has made significant contributions to the hip-hop music genre. He was born in New York City New York, United States, on March 2, 1975.
El-P gained widespread recognition in the early 1990s as a member of the rap collective Company Flow, which he co-founded, and with whom he performed until 2001. After leaving Company Flow, El-P established himself as a solo artist and released several critically acclaimed albums, including Fantastic Damage, I'll Sleep When You're Dead, and Cancer 4 Cure. He is known for his intricate and politically charged lyrics, as well as his experimental production style that blends elements of industrial, electronic, and rock music.
In 2013, El-P formed the rap duo Run The Jewels with fellow rapper Killer Mike, and they quickly became one of the most celebrated acts in hip-hop.
