Elba Ramalho is a Brazilian singer and songwriter, born on August 17, 1951, in Conceição, Brazil. She is one of the most successful and popular vocalists to emerge from Brazil's northeast. She is known as The Queen of Forró. The Brazilian singer released her first solo record Ave de Prata in 1979, achieving international fame. During her long and successful career, she has sung traditional Brazilian music, rock, funk, salsa, and Caribbean music and has collaborated with many musicians and bands like Banda Rojao, Ramalho, Alceu Valença, Zé Ramalho. The Forró artist is known for releases like Coração Brasileiro, Leão do Norte and Balaio de Amor. She received a nomination for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Portuguese Language Roots Album for her album, O Ouro do Pó da Estrada, released on November 30, 2018.
