Eli Young Band Bio
Eli Young Band comprises the University of North Texas alumni. It started with roommates Mike Eli and James Young and expanded to include Jon Jones on bass and Chris Thompson on drums. They started off playing at coffee houses, local bars and soon progressed to open shows for other stars. Sensing the vast potential the band had, Carnival Recording signed them on for their debut album “Level” which got released in 2005. However, it was the success of the second album, “Jet Black & Jealous” published by Universal Records in 2008 that sent their career on a meteoric rise. The album peaked at no 5 on Billboard’s Top Country Album chart and got followed by 5 more albums that made the cut. In 2012, the Country band earned critical acclaim by getting nominated for a Grammy. They have three platinum-selling single records and gold-selling single records, certified by the RIAA.
