Ellen Rona Barkin is an award-winning American actress and producer best known for her work in film and television. She was born in The Bronx, New York City, New York, United States, on April 16, 1954. Ellen began her acting career in 1978 when she appeared in the film Up in Smoke, but she became famous in 1982 when she was cast in the comedy film Diner. She has since been a regular on the TV series Happyish, The New Normal, and Animal Kingdom. Ellen’s filmography includes Sea of Love, Letters to Juliet, Someone Like You, Brooklyn's Finest, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but she is best known for starring in the crime-thriller film Ocean's Thirteen alongside George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Don Cheadle. She has won multiple awards for her acting including a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie, a Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Miniseries or a Motion Picture Made for Television and a Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting Actress.
