Ellen Bennett is a professional chef and entrepreneur who was born and raised in Mexico city, Mexico. After graduating from high school, she enrolled in a culinary school where she perfected her cooking skills. She later moved to LA and worked with two Michelin Star restaurants Providence and Baco Mercat.
Ellen is best known as the founder and CEO of Hedley & Bennett, a Los Angeles apron and workwear company. She started the company at 25 with only $300 while working as a chef. The company now fits some of the most prominent chefs and makers in the world and is sold in William Sonoma, Sur La Table and Whole Foods. Ellen later wrote her memoir Dream First, Details Later: How to Quit Overthinking & Make It Happen! which serves as a playbook for anyone that wants to pursue his/her dreams. Ellen and her company’s story has been featured in the New York Times, Fast Company, Inc., Bon Appetit, Martha Stewart, and the Today Show.
