Ellie Simmonds Bio
Ellie Simmonds is a swimmer who was born on November 11th, 1994 in Walsall, England, United Kingdom. Ellie participated for England in the swimming events, and has represented England at the Paralympics. She competed in the 100-metre freestyle and the 400-metre freestyle events during the Summer Paralympics in 2008, and she was victorious in both of those races. When she was a little child, she began her swimming training with a private instructor. In February of 2009, she became the youngest person ever to be given the honour of Member of the Order of the British Empire, and this achievement sets a new record (MBE). Moreover, at the Paralympics in 2008, she competed in the 400-metre freestyle event and ended up breaking the world record.
