Elliot Page Bio

Elliot Page, formerly Ellen Page, is a Canadian actor and one of the youngest Academy Award nominees for Best Actress, born on February 21, 1987, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He developed an interest in theater at a young age. In the fifth grade, he appeared in his first local production, and in 1997, he received Canada's prestigious Gemini nomination for his role in the movie Pit Pony. Since then, Elliot has appeared in various Canadian television shows, including Trailer Park Boys and ReGenesis, as well as the award-winning film Marion Bridge alongside Molly Parker and Rebecca Jenkins. His performance in the movie Hard Candy in 2005 pushed him into the spotlight, drawing the attention of director Brett Ratner, who cast him as Kitty Pryde in Page's first big-budget movie, X-Men: The Last Stand. His next major part was in the film Juno, for which he received an Academy Award nomination. Following his appearance in Juno, he co-starred in Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The actor also appeared in the movie Freeheld with Julianne Moore and launched Gaycation.
