Austrian actor, Elyas M’Barek was born on 29th May 1982. He was born in Munich, Germany, and began to pursue a career in acting right after completing school. His first film was the 2001 comedy, ‘Mädchen, Mädchen,’ which was directed by Dennis Gansel. His most popular role was that of Cem Öztürk in the 2006 film, ‘Türkisch für Anfänger.’ His role as a young Turk in this film was heavily applauded. He starred in a TV series, ‘Abschnitt 40.’ He has portrayed intense characters in drama series like ‘Die Welle,’ where he plays the role of a Fascist. He has acted in many films like ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones,’ ‘Who Am I- No System is Safe,’ ‘The Man Cave,’ ‘Nightlife,’ and ‘What We Wanted.’ He also enjoyed a successful career on television with roles in shows like ‘Samt und Seide,’ ‘Im Namen des Gesetzes,’ ‘Rosa Roth,’ and ‘Doctor’s Diary.’ One of the most successful films of his career was ‘ Fack Ju Göhte’ which was viewed by 3 million people within 17 days of its release.
