Embrace is an English rock band formed in Bailiff Bridge, England in 1990. The members of the band are Danny McNamara on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, Richard McNamara on lead guitar, Steve Firth on bass guitar, Mickey Dale on keyboards and piano, and Mike Heaton on drums and percussion. After forming, the band had a difficult time choosing the name of the band. They performed for some time under one-off names like Shimmer, Mesmerise, Curious Orange, Maudlin Dirge and others. In 1996 the band recorded a three-track demo that they sold at concerts. They released their debut EP in 1997 titled Fireworks. They have also released the EPs One Big Family, All You Good Good People, The Good Will Out, The Abbey Road Sessions, and Refugees. In 1998 they released their debut studio album titled The Good Will Out. The album charted at number one in the UK, number two in Scotland, and was certified platinum in the UK. They have since released the albums Drawn from Memory, If You’ve Never Been, Out of Nothing, The New Day, Embrace, and Love Is a Basic Need. Embrace has also released three compilation albums and three video albums.
