Emily Ann Sonnett is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder and defender in the National Women's Soccer League. She was born in Marietta, Georgia, United States, on November 25, 1993.
Emily began her spent her formative years playing for NASA 12 Elite II and Virginia Cavaliers, and she turned professional in 2016 when she was selected by the Portland Thorns as the first overall pick of the 2016 NWSL College Draft. She has since represented Sydney FC, Orlando Pride, Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC, and Washington Spirit, and throughout her time with the Washington Spirit, Emily played alongside Trinity Rodman, Kelley O'Hara, Ashley Sanchez, and Tara McKeown.
Emily’s career highlights include winning the NWSL Championship, NWSL Shield, CONCACAF Women's Championship, and FIFA Women's World Cup.
