Emily Tarver is an American actor and musician, born on June 8, 1982, in Houston, Texas. She is best known for her appearances in sitcoms, stand-up, improv, sketch, and musical comedies with her band Summer and Eve. Emily studied psychology and Spanish at the University of Texas at Austin before devoting herself entirely to comedy. She began her acting career in commercials but quickly moved to television shows. Emily made her debut as Ms. Constant in the dramedy series The Big C alongside Laura Linney and Oliver Platt and also appeared in the comedy series Best week ever. She gained popularity after starring in sitcoms like Blackish, Sisters, and Donny! opposite Donny Deutsch. Her best-known role is Artesian McCullough in the Netflix hit series Orange is the New Black.
