Emily Wells is an American composer and producer, born on November 20, 1981, in Amarillo, Texas. She is known for fusing several musical styles, including alternative, experimental, and classical. She performs alone, as well as in a trio with bassist Joey Reina and drummer Sam Halterman. Her full-length debut album Beautiful Sleepyhead and the Laughing Yaks was released in April 2017 on Edub Productions. In 2012, Emily signed with Partisan Records and released the album, Mama. The lead single, Mama's Gonna Give You Love, was used for the Television series Bates Motel. The Texas native has performed at the most prestigious events, such as Rock the Clinton Global Initiative event together with The Roots and Aloe Blacc. She has also appeared on TV shows like Carson Daly's MTV talk show, where she performed a piece called Symphony 1 in the Barrel of a Gun.
