Emma Coburn is an Olympic Medalist and World Champion runner, born on October 19, 1990, in Boulder, Colorado. She is specialized in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Emma began running in high school and continued through college, winning three NCAA championships and six all-American titles in long-run steeplechase. She competed in numerous events throughout her professional career, breaking records and earning medals. She competed three times for the USA's Olympic team, winning the bronze medal in Rio de Janeiro in 2016 behind Ruth Jebet and Hyvin Jepkemoi, making her the first American woman to win in this Olympic category. Additionally, Emily competes in numerous IAAF World Championships, winning gold in 2017 ahead of her teammate Courtney Frerichs and Hyvin Jepkemoi from Kenya, and a silver medal in the championship in Doha 2019.
