Emma Shapplin is a French singer, composer, producer, and author born in Savigny-le-Temple, France on May 19, 1974. She released her debut studio album in 1997 titled Carmine Meo with the labels Pendragon Records and EMI. She has since released the albums Etterna, Macadam Flower, and Dust of a Dandy. She has also released the EP Discovering Yourself, the remix album Spente le Stella, and the live album The Concert in Caesarea. In 2011 she released a DVD of her tour The Macadam Flower Tour. Her sound is described as neoclassical, electronic, rock, and operatic pop. She became well known in the United States after the composer Graeme Revell used her voice in his score for the film Red Planet.
