Eric Dickerson is a former American football player, born on September 2, 1960, in Sealy, Texas. He is one of the leading running backs in National Football League (NFL) history. He played college football at Southern Methodist University before he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams with the second overall selection of the 1983 NFL draft. During the 1984 season, he broke OJ Simpson's single-season record. The famous player was traded to the Indianapolis Colts and later played for the Los Angeles Raiders and the Atlanta Falcons. He ended his 11-year NFL career playing for the Green Bay Packers in 1993. He left football second only to Walter Payton as the leading rusher in NFL history up to that date, with 13,259 yards. The running back was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
