Eric Johnson was born on 17 August, 1954, in Austin, Texas. He is mostly known for his amazing guitar skills and musical influence. At the age of 15, Eric started playing electric guitar professionally and added piano and vocals to his repertoire. It was at this age that he joined the group Mariana. At the beginning of his career, he is highly influenced by veterans in the industry including The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and Cream.
The talented guitarist won a Grammy Award for his memorable song Cliffs of Dover. He has also received a lifetime induction into the Guitar Player Gallery of Greats. Eric has been voted one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of the twentieth century and Electric guitarist of the decade. Alongside Kyle Brock and Tommy Taylor, the musician created a release called Ah Via Musicom. He is also known for creating guitar types including the Fender Stratocaster.
