Erica Banks Bio
Rap artist Erica Banks, born Erica Scharmane Breaux in DeSoto, Texas, blew up airwaves with her hit single, Buss It. Before Erica signed with 1501 Certified Entertainment, she released independently with projects such as Thousand, No Hook, The Art of the Hustle, Pressure, and Cocky on Purpose. The talented artist started with writing poetry and rhyming as a hobby, and went on to drop her freestyle on Soundcloud. Banks was fascinated and inspired by Nicki Minaj, Asian Doll, and Cuban Doll. On the label 1501, she dropped her debut mixtape titled Erica Banks. Days before the release of the mixtape, she tweeted a video of her performing a freestyle rap which racked up over 2 million views. Her hit track Buss It samples Nelly’s Hot in Herre, and her track Toot That samples Huey’s Pop, Lock and Drop It.
