Born in Landsbro, Sweden on May 31, 1990, Erik Karlsson was the first round, No. 15 pick of the Ottawa Senators. He has been part of the all-star games in 2011, 2012, and from 2016 to 2019. He received the James Norris Memorial Trophy twice, during the 2011-12 season and the 2014-15 season. Karlsson played in five leagues. He was with Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League, Broas HC of the the Sweden 1st Division, Jokerit Helsinki of the Finland SM-Liiga, and the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League. He is currently playing for San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League for the 2018-19 season. During the past nine seasons, he was with the Ottawa Senators of the NHL. In 2009, he played in the World Junior U-20 Championships for Sweden.
