Erlend Øye is a Norwegian composer and singer, born on November 21, 1975, in Bergen, Norway. He is best known for being one-half of the indie folk duo Kings of Convenience, together with Eirik Glambek Bøe. He has released numerous albums, EPs, and singles with both Kings of Convenience and the more electronic-based The Whitest Boy Alive. The second band made its debut in 2006, releasing the album Dreams on Øye's newly formed Bubbles Records. In 2013, he started performing solo, and in 2014 he released the album Legao with the Icelandic reggae band Hjálmar. In 2020, he released Quarantine At El Ganzo with Sebastian Maschat. During his career, the Bergen native has collaborated with many pop and electronic acts and has appeared as the vocalist on Röyksopp's debut album Melody A.M.
