Europe is a Swedish rock band that was formed in 1981, in Stockholm. The core members are vocalist Joey Tempest, guitarist John Norum, drummer Tony Reno, and bassist John Leven. Before settling for the name Europe, the band went by Force. They eventually changed the name and released their first two albums, ‘Europe’, and ‘Wings of Tomorrow’.
Reno eventually left the group and was replaced by Ian Haugland, and around this time, the band signed a record deal with Epic Records. ‘The Final Countdown’ was their third album, which was released in 1986. The album was followed in 1988 by ‘Out of This World’. Their fifth album was titled ‘Prisoners in Paradise’, and it was released in 1991. Follow up albums were 2004's ‘Start from the Dark’, 2006's ‘Secret Society’, 2009's ‘Last Look at Eden’, 2012's ‘Bag of Bones’, and 2015's ‘War of Kings’.
