Eva Simons is a Surinamese Dutch singer and songwriter born in Amsterdam, Netherlands on April 27, 1984. She is best known for her single “Policeman.” Simons started playing the piano at a young age and in her early teens she was part of the ensemble Jody’s Kids. She started her professional career in 2001 after her vocals were featured on the single “I Believe in Love” by Cooper. In 2004 she competed on the Dutch version of Popstars The Rivals and was selected to be a member of the band Raffish. They released their debut studio album in 2005 titled How Raffish Are You?. Shortly after the release of their album, Simons announced she would be leaving the band. In 2009 a demo of her song “Silly Boy” was leaked on YouTube and received over 4 million views. She was signed with the record label EMI to officially release the single. Simons has since released the singles “Renegade”, “Chemistry”, “Bludfire”, “Escape From Love”, “Heartbeat”, “Guaya”, “The One”, “Like That” and more.
