Evander Kane is a Canadian professional ice hockey player, born on August 2, 1991, in Vancouver, Canada. He played bantam and midget hockey before he was selected fourth overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers in 2009. Evander debuted on October 3, 2009, and recorded his first career NHL point thanks to an assist on a goal by Rich Peverley. Three years later, he signed a six-year contract with the Jets. In 2015, Evander was traded to the Buffalo Sabres, where he stayed until 2018. In January 2022, the Vancouver native signed a one-year contract with the Edmonton Oilers and made his debut two days later. He also played for the Canadian national team since the 2010 IIHF World Championship in Germany and was invited by general manager Mark Messier.
