Everclear Bio

Everclear is an American alternative rock band from Portland, Oregon. The band consists of members Art Alexakis as the lead singer and guitarist along with Craig Montoya on bass and Greg Eklund on the drums. Alexakis met Montoya and Elkund in 1992 and released their first EP through the Tim/Kerr label. Although, due to lack of promotion by the label, Everclear re-released the EP with additional songs and renamed the record to ‘World of Noise’ through Fire Records. The band signed to Capitol Records and released their 1995 album, ‘Sparkle and Fade’. Everclear had their breakthrough in 1997 with their album, ‘So Much Afterglow’ which eventually went double platinum. In 1998, Everclear was said to be the Modern Rock Artist of the Year by Billboard. In 2006, the band left Capitol and released ‘Welcome to the Drama Club’ with a more indie rock sound and made the Billboard Top 200, peaking at number 11 on the Independent Albums Chart. Everclear has released many iconic rock hits such as ‘Santa Monica’, Father of Mine’ and ‘Wonderful’ amongst many others throughout their career. The current band members are Art Alexakis, Dave French on guitar, Freddy Herrera on bass and Brian Nolan on drums.
