Exaltasamba is a Brazilian pagode music ensemble that was founded in 1982 in So Bernardo do Campo, in the state of Sa Paulo. The band began by performing in restaurants and pubs. They eventually started writing their own songs and released an album called "Eterno Amanhecer" in 1992.
However, it wasn't until 1996 that they fully broke through, with their albums "Luz do Desejo" and "Desliga e Vem" earning double platinum in 1996 and 1997, respectively. They published a live album that included songs chosen by their fans via email. Thiaguinho, one of their most well-known vocalists, joined the group in 2003.
They kept putting out albums. In 2010, they celebrated their 25th anniversary, and they had composed new songs for this event. Thiaguinho announced the following year that he would be retiring.
