Famke Janssen is a Dutch actress, director, screenwriter, and former fashion model born in Amstelveen, Netherlands in 1964. She is best known for her roles in the films GoldenEye, the X-Men series, and the Taken trilogy, and for her role in the television show Nip/Tuck. In 1985 she moved to the United States to pursue a modeling career. She was signed with Elite Model Management and worked for the brands Chanel, Yves Saint Laurent, Victoria’s Secret, and Giorgio Armani. In the early 1990s, she retired from modeling to pursue an acting career. She made her debut on television in 1992 in the show Star Trek: The Next Generation and continued landing roles in the shows Melrose Place, Nip/Tuck, Hemlock Grove, The Untouchables, Ally McBeal, How to Get Away with Murder and more. In 1992 she made her debut in film in the movie Fathers & Sons and has since had roles in the films GoldenEye, Dead Girl, City of Industry, Deep Rising, The Gingerbread Man, I Spy, The Wackness, The Ten, 100 Feet and others. In 2011 she made her directorial debut with the film Bringing Up Bobby. Throughout her career she has been nominated for several awards and has won two Hamptons International Film Festival Awards.
