Fazıl Say is a Turkish composer and pianist who was born on January 14th 1970 in Ankara, Turkey. He was born and raised in Turkey.
Say was commissioned in 2011 by the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival to compose a clarinet concerto based on the legacy of Persian poet Omar Khayyam and it was performed by Sabine Meyer. Say has performed with some of the world’s great orchestras like New York Philharmonic, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic and the Orchestre National de France. He also appeared in the 2013 album In Search of the Miraculous and also on the 2014 album Metin Altıok Şiirlerinden Şarkılar - Anka.
