Fields Of The Nephilim is an English gothic rock band formed in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in 1984 by vocalist and front man Carl McCoy. The original members also included Gary Whisker, Tony Pettit and brothers Paul Wright and Alexander Wright. Their debut EP, Burning the fields, was released in 1985. In that period, Peter Yates joined the band, replacing Gary Whisker. Their second album, The Nephilim, was released on September 5, 1988. Following their split in 1991, vocalist Carl McCoy pursued his The Nefilim project. The remaining band members formed Rubicon. Fields Of The Nephilim was reformed in 1998. Four years later, the band released the album Fallen, followed by Mourning Sun in 2005. Since 2008, McCoy and the band have performed under the name Fields of the Nephilim at venues and festivals across Europe.
