Filip Forsberg (born on 13 August 1994) is a Swedish hockey player who plays as a left wing for the Nashville Predators in the National Hockey League (NHL). He is also an alternate captain for the Predators and a member of the Swedish national team.
Forsberg started his hockey career with Leksands IF. He played for their junior and senior teams, and helped them earn promotion to the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) in 2013. He also represented Sweden at various international tournaments, winning silver medals at the World U18 Championships in 2011 and 2012, and a gold medal at the World Junior Championships in 2013.
Forsberg was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the first round, 11th overall, of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Nashville Predators in 2013 for Martin Erat and Michael Latta. He made his NHL debut with the Predators later that year, and scored his first NHL goal in October 2013. Forsberg had a breakout season in 2014–15, when he led the Predators in scoring with 63 points in 82 games. He was also named to the NHL All-Star Game and the NHL All-Rookie Team.
