Flor de Toloache Bio

Mariachi Flor De Toloache are a Mexican mariachi band formed in 2008 in New York City, New York. The band consists of the Mireya Ramos and Shae Fiol and accompanying unnamed members who play the multitude of instruments that the group is known to perform with. Mariachi Flor De Toloache has the distinction of being the first successful all-female mariachi group in a genre that is dominated by men.

In January of 2015, while playing the club circuit in New York City, Mariachi Flor De Toloache released a self-titled, independent debut album. The album resulted in a United States tour to promote their brand of music. This self-promotion tour enabled the group to secure a spot as an opening act for Dan Auerbach’s The Arcs. The group played sold out shows in the U.K., Germany, Holland, Italy, and France, along with the U.S. Mariachi Flor De Toloache received a nomination for a Latin Grammy in 2015 for their debut album for Best Ranchera Album of 2015.

In 2016 the group signed to Chulo Records. Mariachi Flor De Toloache released their second studio album in 2017 entitled Las Caras Lindas. The album featured production from such artists such as Chicano Batman, Snarky Puppy, and Luba Mason. The album peaked at number 31 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums Chart and won a Grammy Award for Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album of 2017.
