Florence Welch is a singer born on 28th August 1986 in London, England. She is the songwriter/lead vocalist of the band Florence and the Machine. She released the album “Lungs” with the band, charted at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart, and received the Brit Award in the category of Best British Album. The album sold more than 100,000 copies in the UK alone. Welch contributed vocals to the album “Here Lies Love” by Fatboy Slim and David Byrne.
In January 2011, she worked with Drake on a piece that would be included in an upcoming album. Her second album with the band, titled “Ceremonials,” was released on 31st October 2011. The album topped the UK Albums Chart and was number 6 on the US Billboard 200. In October 2012, Welch was featured on the song “Sweet Nothing” by Calvin Harris.
