Juan Fernando Fonseca was born on May 29, 1979 in Bogota, Colombia. He is better known as Fonseca. He is a Colombian singer, songwriter, record producer, and activist. He went to school at the Colegio Los Nogales, but it was in ninth grade that he discovered his love for music.
Fonseca was nominated for Grammy award in 2012 for the Best Latin Pop Album. He won the Latin Grammy Awards 5 times: Best Tropical Song (2006), Best Latin Children’s Album (2009), Best Tropical Fusion (2012), and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album (2014). He was also nominated several times for Latin Grammy Awards: two in 2006 for Record of the Year and Best Contemporary Tropical Album, in 2008 for Best Contemporary Tropical Album, in 2010 for Best Tropical Song, in 2012 for Best Tropical Song, and in 2014 for Album of the Year. Fonseca has also been nominated for three Premios Nuestra Tierra Awards.
